STEM TLC presentation

UNCG STEM Teacher Leader Collaborative

UNCG STEM Teacher Leader Collaborative (TLC) hosted the network’s first event of the school year 2021/22 on Saturday, October 23rd at the School of Education. Thirteen teachers from the network of close to 200 teachers and stakeholders across North Carolina met to reconnect and reconceptualize the organization. Moving forward, teacher leaders in the network will work with the transition team, doctoral student Dearing Blankmann, UNCG alumni Dr. Alison Mercier, and retired UNCG staff Rita Jennings, to shape the organization as they work to meet the professional learning needs of NC STEM teachers and plan for the network’s sustainability. This Leadership Lab was the initial step in reimagining the STEM TLC as a UNCG partner, driven by North Carolina teachers for North Carolina teachers to learn and grow together as educators, as champions for STEM equity and as leaders in our profession. Ongoing support from Mike Woyahn and the Summit Rotary for the UNCG STEM TLC will make possible future events in the works for this school year.
